Library Services

Fuji Women’s University’s historic library celebrates 50 years in 2011.

We provide a user service at two buildings; the main building located in the Faculty of Humanities and the Hanakawa building located in the Faculty of Human Life Sciences.

There are about 35 million volumes and 4,600 magazine categories as of March 31, 2011. There are also electric journals and a database.

The main library holds articles mainly from the field of literature and language, and many students from other universities come to visit, especially in the field of Japanese literature, so perhaps this library will be useful for our students.

The Hanakawa library holds predominantly articles on social science, natural science, home economics and nursery, and students who want to be a registered dietitian or a nursery teacher are often seen in this building.

Our library is famous for the high number of books lent per student compared to other universities libraries in Japan, because of the easily accessed open stacked shelves throughout. We maintain necessary student materials through frequent cooperation with professors.

Library staff members try hard to support students’ study and research, and our motto is “My Life My Library”.
